Internet access is a steady source of revenue for a GSM Network Operator. This poses a number of challenges as all mobile phones were not created equal. A WAP gateway needs to be able to accomodate all the compliancy standards to be useful. Our product handles both WAP1 and WAP2 traffic. It also features a radius proxy function and MSISDN injection into HTML headers. Content providers can use this information to directly bill a subscriber for content without laborious and irritating login and authentiactions screens.
The TruTeq WAP Gateway is based on open-source software integrated to the workhorse TruTeq telco framework. This solution therefore offers the same monitoring and configuration features we offer on al our other telco products.
We do not charge for open-source components - only for integration and a few proprietary components used. The capital costs are therefore extremely low. Because it is based on open-source software, there are no throughput license restrictions. We are active in the open source community, so we can also offer efficient support.
