sms

As GSM Network Operators offer more and more SMS-based services the need for a routing and rating solution becomes obvious. In smaller networks, many SMSC's are still based on a voicemail platform with very limited capacity for external SMPP accounts. Premium rated billing has also become very popular with huge increases in SMS volumes as well as revenue per SMS. In order to get leverage the existing (and sometimes assymetric) SMSC infrastructure, an operator can use TruRoute SMS to great advantage.

Local store-and-forward capabilities reduce the load on the SMSCs in the case of underperforming client connections and by configuring throttling parameters per content provider, the operator can also protect the SMSCs against unplanned peaks.

OTA-type traffic is also supported, so an OTA provider can use TruRoute SMS to send handset settings for GPRS, WAP and MMS.

Routing

TruRoute SMS offers content routing based on long number or short codes. Connectivity to content providers is through SMPP3.4 or SSMI and the number of these connections are not license limited.

Monitoring

As with all our products, the Operator has full statistics and system monitoring to manage the SMSC load optimally. The Operator can also get comparative performance statistics to identify problematic or underperforming content providers.

Rating

Rating is performed on destination-basis for both prepaid and postpaid subscribers.

Hardware

The System runs on server-type hardware, making the hardware extremely cost-effective with linear scaling. Licenses may scale from 10tps upwards. Redundancy is tailored to the customer's requirements from a non-redundant solution to a full geo-diverse solution.
