What is Ameton?
TruTeq is building a new home in Centurion, Pretoria. As it will be situated on the corner of Clifton and Amethyst roads, it will be called Ameton House.
Ameton will be built in two phases. Phase one includes a basement with an enormous store and the ground floor with reception area, generous office space (open plan, of course), kitchen, foosball area, board room and large wooden deck. Outside there is ample parking and a "green belt" of plants as a counter balance to the modern building design.

Progress
Getting the commercial licences and planning permissions took a very long time, but on Monday the 9th of November 2009, the raft foundation was poured.

Thursday 3 December 2009. The basement brick and concrete work have been completed. The waterproofing is now underway. Hopefully the first floor and upper raft foundation can be poured before the great December shutdown. The picture below was captured by our on-site Cruiser Cam.

Friday 29 January 2010. The ground floor has finally been poured.

20 trucks line up to pour 120 cubic meters of concrete to pump....
Monday 1 February 2010. Change of plans!

We are going up to a second storey on the Northern side and build on the Southern section later. For now that will now be a massive stoep.
Tuesday 9 March 2010. First storey floor poured.

Getting ready to pour. Ten trucks are on the way!
Thursday 20 March 2010. Coulda, woulda, shoulda.
After trying to accomodate everybody at great expense, it turns out that somebody lodged a complaint anyway. That complaint cost us an additional truckload of money as all building had to cease for a month before we received permission to continue. After this, some contractors disappeared (with our money).
The good news is that the project is on track again. All plastering is done and the boundary wall is up. Next step is the roof which should be up in the next two weeks and then the windows and doors.
Thursday 14 October 2010. Progress!
The tons of hard work is now starting to show. Almost all of the aluminium windows are in.
Next steps are the getting in the kiaat wooden windows and doors, the tiles, carpets, paving, sanitary ware and a few small things.

A panoramic picture - Almost done!
Monday 3 January 2011. Moving in!
We are moving in at last.
